Ioannina is the capital of Epirus and the largest financial, commercial and cultural center of Northwestern Greece.

At 22th km South of Ioannina lies the ancient theater of Dodona, one of the best preserved theatres of the ancient world.
The Ioannina Castle is the city's reference point. The present fortification dates back to the reconstruction under Ali Pasha in 1815.
The picturesque village of Perama is graced with the hill of Goritsa. Inside this hill there is a three-storey “palace”, with incomparable beauties and decorations that is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Balkans.
The island in the Pamvotida lake is an integral part of the history of Ioannina: it is related with the history and the death of Ali Pasha.There is already evidence , from the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine period, of organized living on the island based on the eight monastery compounds.
The proud, imposing Tzoumerka mountain chain stands in a wild area which remains untouched by the modern civilization. Deep gorges, bare rocks, rich natural environment, impetuous rivers and traditional settlements are some of the characteristics that compose a scenery of unique wild beauty.
